... Well if there was any game that would stop me from doing this blog it would be this game. Let's have some background shall we? I am a gamer who rarely plays sports games. I know a gamer is one who should play all genres of games, but sports is one that I just can't get into. It takes button mashing skill that I do not possess. So I was not particularly excited to go into this game, nor am I excited for the baseball games. However, I gave this one a chance... and it did not impress any part of my imagination. What is wrong with the game you might ask? Well let me tell you!
Let's start with what I learned from 1080 Snowboarding. First, and most of all, women are terrible at snowboarding. Now don't get me wrong, I am not sexist, I chose the girl because I thought hey! maybe they made her great, because of the whole token woman character! NO! She is TERRIBLE, every lip she falls, every trick she falls, every turn she falls! I have friends who trip standing, but I didn't think I would encounter that in a game! I lost in contest mode because I lost time from falling over so many times. I went around a flag and fell. I jumped onto a ledge and fell off. I went over a jump AND FELL IN MID AIR! HOW!? GAH! She was so annoying!
Then there was the fact that the black character was slow. Why? Just why? When I would play as him he was so slow at turning corners that he would run into every wall. He was the only character that I lost because of acquiring too much damage. I knew snowboarding was dangerous to some degree, but not straight up death in a ranked match! What killed me? Landing straight on my snowboard. Don't you dare asked me how you are suppose to land on a snowboard because I will never be able to tell you.
So onto my next victim. The Asian male. The only thing about this guy that I can complain about? He just wasn't good enough. He fell over only a few times, he made the corners, but his speed just didn't match the computer players. His jumping capability was fantastic however. That dude could jump! Now he may look like a white male, but the dude's name is Kensuke...
You know what I love about Canadians? You find special things with them! It wasn't until I played as the Canadian character that I found the secret side area that was quicker and less deadly. Who knew I would find the safe way with the Canadian? I DID! This guy would also fall if things got too rowdy. I accidentally ran into the computer player and I seriously got beat up. He would not leave me alone after that. Oh, I also got stuck sideways and went forward into the wall for about thirty seconds as this character. So what's wrong? Nothing he just didn't stand out.
So the final man! MY MAIN MAN! THE STEREOTYPICAL WHITE MAN! He was THE best character I played. I fell the least amount of times. I made a jump and did a trick as him. I saw the computer player up till when they beat as him. This dude was rocking. Best control, and best speed. There is something about too much speed, and not enough speed. Just the right amount. The only thing that ruined my play with him? My freaking playability. It was playing as this fantastic character that I realized that I am just bad at this game.
So all in all, I couldn't stand this game. However, it seems that it's just me, because it's got a 9/10 all around the board. It might be that sports games are the bane of my gaming, but I could not played this game at all. I'm N64 guy, and I'll be talking to you all when I play my next exciting game on everyone's favorite console! The N64!

007: The World Is Not Enough
So another game another day! This time it's 007: The World Is Not Enough. Now this game was weird. Nothing changed at all. The graphics were the same, the shooting were the same. It was just new James Bond. I don't know why anyone talked about this one as much. It had more of a storyline as Goldeneye did. I guess it wasn't as revolutionary and Goldeneye. I haven't tested out the multiplayer so I don't know if that was a huge factor. TWINE is a fine game, and if anything a lot more strategic. The strafing is much better, and there is a jump and crouch button! I played four missions I believe and I enjoyed my time, well except the last one, but I will get to that later.
Mission One! This time I have started out in some kind of bank. There is a woman and she is telling me that I need to access my safety deposit box. So I run over to the area, and doing so causes a little tutorial to appear telling me how to open doors and stuff like that. Now I am not one who enjoys tutorials but this was alright. It wasn't in the way, and you could ignore it if you wanted. So I grabbed my stuff and headed into the vault area. The Security Guard took my guns away so I could enter. In doing so I am in a meeting. One of the guys guards shoots their boss, and thus starts the mission. The shooting mechanics are the same like I said, and auto target is still a thing. This is very helpful seeing as I just have a pistol and limited stick maneuverability. So I take out all the guys, and head over the to safe I need to crack. A new thing in this game is the gadgets. You get different gadgets that you can sort through and use. So I used my safe cracking gadget and acquired a swipe card. After killing a few more guys I decide to go through the swipe key card doors and bust my way into a vault. One of the gadgets I have is a keypad decoder, which allows me into the vault. So after all of this I head out of the meeting area, and to my surprise the guards are shooting at me! So I shoot both of the guards and feeling victorious, what do I see? A FREAKING FAILED TITLE! So apparently I am not suppose to shoot the guards. So I go through everything again, because just like it's predecessor this game does not have checkpoints. I get to exit of the meeting area, and I put on my watch to stun the guards. However, this time when I walk through the door they are not firing at me. I was quite pleased to know that the reason they were firing at me is because I had my gun out. So I walked out with the money I took from the vault and ended the mission.
Now the next mission was exciting! After I had gotten the money back to MI6, the base began to be under attack! So it was up to me to take out all the bad guys. One by one I took out the goons, and this time I actually had back up. Naturally they died with one hit from the enemy, but it was nice to be able to use them as bait so I wouldn't get hit. The level was crazy, because I had to first go to the security room and turn on the security protocol. Which then locked down all the windows and doors. The reason I did this, is because the bad guys were actually crashing through the windows. Revolutionary man! So after taking the guys out I started heading down the stairs. Apparently the protocol, does not cover skyline windows, because these guys started zip lining down from the ceiling. After getting a few of them I reached the bottom of the stairs, and crazy stuff started happening. The stairwell exploded and crashed to the ground, showing that I couldn't go back up. Then when I exited into the ground floor, I saw fires blocking my path. I had to fight my way through a group of guys so I would be able to get to the emergency sprinkler system and put out those fires. upon doing so I found my way out, and then Q started freaking out saying the person who started the attack was on a boat and about to take off. So I shot a pathway all the way to the boat docks and took off after the person. This was probably the most exciting mission I played, just because there was so much going on.
Now we get to the level that was kind of crazy. After chasing this mad woman on the boats she crashes into the side of a building. Crazy I know, but she takes off running! So James Bond style I turn the boat and fly it into a harbor landing area? I don't know, but it was great. So the mission starts with a boat passing by me, and there are already guys firing. I am not going to worry about them, because they are going to fast for the auto target to sense them and I get shot a couple of times. So I run up this rampway to the city streets, and pulled up to the entry is a swat vehicle with guys who have snipers shooting me. SNIPERS! I'm like five feet away! So anyways I kill the two guys, and what do I get? Their freaking sniper rifles. The ones that have semi auto shots that shoot once. So I get a few more guys and round a corner, now this corner was a surprise, once i turned it I lost the mission... Why? Because their were hostages and I took a little too long and the bad guys murdered them. SO I get to start back with the guys shooting me from the beginning. I run all the way to the same point, and this time I think, hey why don't I just sneak around back? Well there is no back. Just more guys with harpoon guns. So I fail the mission once again and have to start over. So third times the charm correct? WRONG! This time whilst trying to shoot the men I ended up shooting hostages. Apparently the auto aim has friendly fire! So once again I encounter the boatmen, but this time I shot one! Point for me! I also was able to take care of the two guys with the hostages. After that it was a breeze. I shot more baddies, and got all the way to the subway, where the crazy lady had run. That was the end of the mission.
So after running into the subway, I read my missions first. There are also hostages that I have to watch out for on this mission as well. Great! So I run down the stairs and I see people running at me. I remember last time someone ran at me without shooting and it ended badly. So I wait to shoot, and to my surprise the bad guys shoot and kill the civilians before they got away! Those meanies! So I took down both the guys and took the left out of the two ways. This lead me all the way down to this sub level area, with no doors, however I did get the body armor. So I run back up and I get a guy around the right corner, and head down some more stairs. At the bottom of these stairs there are four guys waiting for me. I take them out quickly and head off. Around the next corner were my hostages. This time there was no problem in containing the situation. I got the guys without a single one dieing! This happened every attempt at this level, which I am proud of. This next part was quite tricky. You had to jump onto the subway rails then run to the wall with a gap in it. You did this, because the subway was still going. Also subway trains apparently run three seconds apart, at very, very, very high speeds. So I make into the maintenance area, and take out some dudes on a broken down train. Once I get into the clear, I see some more guys while heading into the next area, so I take my shots and MISSION FAILED! Apparently there were pedestrians mixed in, but they weren't hostages? I don't know. So I go through everything again, and get to this spot, and before I see the guys I see two civilians run past me. So the other time they had lagged and not ran as far, so they got shot in the crossfire. ANYWAY, I take the guys out, and run to this room that has stairs. I head up the stairs and instantly they blow up the walkway. So I have to use the jump mechanic to jump across, and this was kind of annoying, because they were beginners at jump it seems. So I make it across and head up the stairs once more. While going up, they blow up the walkway once again with a guy on it. He dies and I just walk over because it's not all the way blown up. I get the last guy and head out the door. Through the door there is a blimp and it's flying off. I chase the blimp down and FAILED MISSION... There was a bomb I was suppose to turn off... SO I go through everything again and get to the part right before the stairwell. There are bathrooms to the left and the right. I take the right one, and shoot a baddie in the stall. I look in the stalls and sure enough, there's the bomb. So I take out my bomb defuser, and press the right button, and it explodes... Apparently I was suppose to do this slowly, because the bomb is sensitive. Once again I make my way down to the bathrooms, but this time I don't take the body armor! BOLD I KNOW! So I slowly tap the button, while staring at the timer, that I just noticed was on my screen. The bomb is defused! So I run up the stairs, and spend about two minutes trying to jump the gap again, get out the door, jump into the blimp and what happens? The freaking crazy woman blows herself up! WHY!? I don't know but that was the end of my play time.
So that was TWINE! The strafing was great, the crouching was great, the jumping was great. The only this was they don't explain the missions very well, or how to complete them. Everyone looks the same so the only way to notice a baddie from a civvie is a gun, and at a fast pace with hostages this can be annoying. Once again no checkpoint or save system, so even though you made it to the end if you make a mistake you have to start over. I understand we can be spoiled with saving, but with FPS it's kind of a big deal. This is N64 Guy and I'll talk to you guys tomorrow about another exciting game from everyone's favorite N64!

007: Goldeneye
So I started from the very top of the alphabet chain. To my surprise and joy it was Goldeneye! I remember playing this game with other people when I was twelve and thirteen. When I was a little bit younger I was not allowed to play or own any games that killed people. So this game was not allowed in the house. I had friends who played it, and ever once in awhile my brothers told me of when they would play it at friends houses. So feeling a bit nostalgic I was ready to enter the life of a spy and take on the USSR.
There were already three saves on the game so I decided hey, let's just fill up the fourth one. That way it's super confusing. Also I wanted to get through as much as I could so I put the game on agent. There was agent, super agent, or 007. I didn't want this to be frustrating so I went full on easy. When the game started I had to adjust my eyes. I was not use to how terrible the pixels were. There were only 64bits and my eyes were killing me. I pushed through however, and started to shoot those USSR commies! The shooting is very simple. You you point in the direction that you want and your gun shoots the right people. There is no aiming, you just turn. It's auto aim, and that was very useful. The first mission has you running from the beginning in this snowy mountaintop, to bungee jump off of a dam. Now mind you I have been playing games heavily based on collectables and exploration. This game has none of it. I wasted many a minute by trying to search for collectables. So finally realizing that it just has straight missions I booked it to the bungee jump. I jumped off and fell for what seemed like forever. Then game jumped back to the jumping point, and showed James finally bungee jumping off of the dam with no bungee chord. I had to tell myself that this was back in the nineties!

Then game jumped back to the jumping point, and showed James finally bungee jumping off of the dam with no bungee chord. I had to tell myself that this was back in the nineties!
Shoot forward to mission two. I am in some kind of ventilation system and don't know where to go. Luckily the game does everything for me. If I need to crouch all I need to do is go towards what I want to crouch under and I crouch. Very easy! So I go through the vent system until I fall into a bathroom stall. Classic spy stuff! So after I purge the plumbing of all USSR suits, I head out into a vast stairway hall area. I started shooting some more baddies, until I find one that has a card key. Sweet this will be needed in the future! However, I went through the wrong door and had to back track and find the right one. I was on my way again! Shooting some guys and being awesome. I then find myself in a room with a door on the right, and a door on the left. A voice in my head (My brother) tells me that I have to blow up the containers in those rooms. So after placing many mines I do so, AND I FAIL THE MISSION! So after such a thing, I decided not to listen to that voice in my head, and do it my own way. I go through all of that again, because this game has no checkpoints, and I get to the end where I am supposed to meet 006. However, He sneaks up on me and I shoot him. Thus starts a shootout between me and my ally. After killing him I feel victorious, until the failed mission screen appears! So apparently this game has friendly fire, and they shoot back! So this time it's my third try. I run past everything it seems shoot some baddies at the end and talk to 006. Then the alarm starts going off and a ton of guys bust into the room. I then proceed to shoot them all, not knowing my mission is to blow up the containers in this room (these were what my brother was thinking of). So I fail the mission because the guys over power me and I die (This is the only time I died the whole session). So once more I go through everything, and place mines on the containers. As soon as the people show up I explode the mines and book it out of there. Only to look back and see a man executing 006. I am glad this was scripted, because I did not want to go through all of that again. The cut-scene ends with James looking smug with his gun up. Ah classic James Bond.
So by this time I have gotten all the controls handled, and I start my strafing ways. The next mission was easy all I had to do was grab keys to a plane. THEN DRIVE A TANK! I was very excited and the sound of squashing virtual people with the tank was comical. I drove to the plane in the tank, and jumped out. As soon I got there this mini turret started shooting at me. Fortunately I had parked the tank in front of it and so it blocked all the shots. So ending this easy mission I jumped into the plane and took off!
The next two missions were boring, and nothing happened. The first of the two I was running through snow going through houses, and shooting goons. The mission ended with me jumping into this vent system. Once again Mr. Bond was not shown with any harness of any kind. To end my play time, I went through this mission under ground. I came across a room with a bunch of computer screens and I thought, sweet this is the goldneye room. I grabbed the goldeneye key and booked it out of the room on the helipad. To be welcomed by a failed mission! Apparently there was three other missions I missed and I failed the level. So it started me back at the beginning, and that's where I ended my play time. So my experience with this game was a great one. Yes the non checkpoints were annoying, but the auto aim made up for that. Classic spy routines, gave me more nostalgia and I had a good time. This is N64Guy and I will be seeing you guys tomorrow with another N64 game!
